Overview
Employee records, lifecycle work, leave, and reviews in one governed workspace.
Startup HRIS gives People admins a system of record with role-based access: employees and managers see only what their role permits, lifecycle work is assigned rather than remembered, and payroll preparation produces reviewed exports for your payroll provider — calculation and payment stay outside the workspace.

Startup HRIS (human resources information system) gives People admins a governed employee system of record: authorized directory profiles, departments, document metadata, lifecycle checklists, time-off policies and requests, performance reviews, compensation history, reports, audit history, and controlled exports. Employees and managers see only the records and actions their roles permit.
Onboarding and offboarding stay visible as assigned workflow work rather than scattered reminders. Employees can complete their own tasks and access authorized document metadata, managers can act on direct-report work and leave approvals, and People admins retain the controls for employee maintenance, policy configuration, compensation changes, and irreversible offboarding confirmation.
Payroll preparation is a review workflow for period snapshots, adjustments, reconciliation exceptions, approvals, and native register artifacts. It does not calculate payroll, withhold taxes, file returns, or execute wage payments. A privacy-aware Slack assistant can answer in explicitly invited channels, while a daily reminder process keeps enrolled People Ops work moving.
What's inside
- Employee records
One authorized directory for the team
People admins maintain employee and department records, while employees and managers see only authorized profiles. The directory keeps sensitive notes, document contents, and compensation values out of the list view and opens a scoped profile panel when a record is selected.
- Onboarding & offboarding
Lifecycle work with owners and checkpoints
Lifecycle workflows track onboarding and offboarding progress, assigned checklist work, and authorized actions. Irreversible offboarding actions require explicit People-admin confirmation, so the workflow stays auditable instead of silently completing a sensitive change.
- Requests & reviews
Keep leave and performance work moving
Employees submit time-off requests and access their assignments; managers decide requests for direct reports; People admins configure policies and administer the workflow. Performance review cycles let authorized participants submit written responses without exposing records beyond their role.
- Reports & payroll preparation
Review the register before it leaves the workspace
People admins can prepare payroll periods from reviewed inputs, inspect adjustments and reconciliation exceptions, approve the run, and create native register artifacts. Closed payroll runs are immutable; calculation, tax withholding, filings, and payment execution remain outside the workspace.

FAQ
Does it run payroll?
No. It prepares payroll: period snapshots, adjustments, reconciliation exceptions, approvals, and native register artifacts you export to your payroll provider. Calculation, tax withholding, filings, and wage payments stay with that provider.
Who can see compensation?
People admins. Employees and managers see only the records and actions their role permits; compensation values, sensitive notes, and document contents are excluded from the directory list.
Can an offboarding be completed by accident?
No. Irreversible offboarding actions require explicit People-admin confirmation and are recorded in the audit history.
How does the Slack assistant handle privacy?
It answers only in channels it has been explicitly invited to, with the same role-based access as the workspace, so it doesn't disclose records a person couldn't open themselves.
Can we adapt the policies and checklists?
Yes. Leave policies, lifecycle checklists, review cycles, and payroll-preparation rules are configured in the workspace, and the assistant can change how any of them work.
